Bénédictine D.O.M. is a herbal liqueur that was produced in France and developed in the 19th century. The D.O.M. on every bottle of Bénédictine refers to “Deo Optimo Maximo”, which loosely translates to “to God, the most good, most great”. Few liqueurs in the world have a history as fascinating as Bénédictine, as it is claimed that monks at the Bénédictine Abbey of Fécamp in Normandy developed the recipe for its liqueur in 1510. While the world may never know the truth, Bénédictine is undoubtedly an incredible liqueur that withstood the test of time.
