The “Harugako Umeshu” is produced in Xinyi Township, Nantou County, Taiwan, renowned as the “Plum Village.” It carefully selects locally grown pesticide-free plums from orchards that yield rich fruity aromas when they reach a ripeness level of 7 to 8. These plums are then fermented in barrels, blending them with specially selected Tainan No. 16 Yueguang rice, which undergoes two rounds of distillation to create a refined base. The infusion is further enriched by soaking in the pristine, high-quality water sourced from the upstream area of the Chan-Yu-Lan Creek.
